We certainly get to photograph a fascinating variety of weddings. This recent celebration for Beth & Matt, was  truly 'boho'. The ceremony was in the famous Booths bookshop, Hay on Wye, followed by fun & dancing to 3 local bands in the historic stableyard of their pony trekking business. Friends & family had set up a wonderful ecclectic mix of seating & food service, including 2 huge custom built(by a talented friend) crystal chandeliers, made on the spot wood fired pizza, BBQ & a wonderful cake by the groom's mother decorated with chocolate horses....in stables!
Relaxed, fun & fabulous, even if the meticulously planned shot of the bride & groom with their 2 favourite, freshly scrubbed horses didn't quite happen. The horses decided the brides wild flower bouquet was a delicious treat! Oh, well!

What’s a “pre-wedding” you ask? It’s kind of like what we photographers and our clients refer to as an “engagement session” except not really…at all. It’s only when you are involved with weddings that you realise how many meanings ‘engagement’ has -  You have just got engaged and, while being engaging to all of your relations, you are engaging a photographer… So let’s keep it simple:

Photographers have a pretty standard stable of sessions we offer our clients: engagement, wedding, maybe a day-after session, and that’s that. The engagement session is a great way for our clients to get to know us. It also helps our clients learn to be comfortable in front of the camera. Lastly, it provides us plenty of creative freedom to shoot some beautiful photos for their save-the-date cards, wedding invitations, announcements, and guestbooks. We spend an hour or so shooting, the clients bring a few simple props maybe, we make some pretty pictures, and we’re done. The clients are happy, and we’re happy to have had the time to shoot with them without the pressures of the big day.

Celebrating Volunteers of East Cheshire.

We, and our friends Mel & Alan from 21st Century group, had the great pleasure of being invited to photograph a Gala Evening arranged by the ladies of East Cheshire CVSA. The splendid event at Crewe's magnificent Lyceum Theatre was held to honour & thank those who give so much by volunteering with so many charities & organisations. The Volunteers & service users were treated to delicious street food, Magicians, Ballon artists & brilliant stage performances by Deeside Signing Choir, East Cheshire Youth Theatre previewing 'Swallows & Amazons' & the Swingshift swing band.
A great night had by all.

going the extra mile

Preparation for a product shoot with  Pintail Jewellery . I didn't like  any of the backgrounds I had so decided the only way to remedy that was to make a wall as my wife seemed reluctant to re-decorate just for one day!

Gorgeous girlies!

Proud Nanna brought her two granddaughters for a shoot. After an hour of laughing & dancing, we took advantage of the lovely weather with a walk in the woods.                                                              One of our favourite ways to spend a day, with loads of cracking images for the family to choose from. Thanks for coming with your little stars.

A great weekend, espcecially for photographers...

Off to do something a bit different at the weekend, Operation Overlord Churnet Valley Railway and the 1st Infantry Division Living History Group. This is a unique opportunity to photograph a recreation of a wartime goods train as it might have appeared immediately prior to D-Day.
The goods train will include around 10 vehicles including a tank carrier (with load).
The troops and their vehicles will create a number of cameos at the station and along the lineside at various locations. Should be a exciting fun day.
